Newtown Football Star Makes Debut For Wales

15-year-old Carrie Jones, from Newtown, made her debut for the Ladies Welsh Football Team, in August, against the Euro qualifiers against the Faroe Islands.

After being coached by Hanratty & Co’s very own Paul Inns in Berriew, it was a no-brainer for the firm to sponsor Carrie.

Carrie has been working exceptionally hard, between travelling up and down to Cardiff two, three, if not four times a week, and studying hard at school- the cost of which, Hanratty & Co are delighted to support.

With attitudes changing around Women’s football, especially after the successes of the Lionesses, the game finally getting lift off around the world and gaining the status it has long deserved, it is inspiring to see a local girl being part of this project to raise the profile and getting the message across that football is certainly a man’s world no longer.
